2010 Annapolis OpenĀ®
Officer Grant Turner Memorial
Baseball Tournament
The Annapolis OpenĀ® Youth Baseball Tournament began operating in 2005. The first tournament was held in March 2006 at General's Highway Corridor Park in conjunction with Riva Park, GORC Park, Arden Park, Randazzo Softball Park, Joe Cannon Stadium, Harundale Youth Sports and Gambrills Athletic Club.
The Open is in memory of Grant Turner, a young man who loved baseball in his brief life. This tournament supports area high schools with college scholarships each year.
The Annapolis Open is planned for March 19, 20 and 21 in 2010. It is sponsored by General's Highway Athletic Association with support from the Maryland Diamond Umpires Association, members of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police (MdTA) and Phil and Nancy Turner.
The Tournament is planning to field teams in U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 age categories.
Last year we had 100 teams participate in this tournament from all over Mid-Atlantic region and Canada.
